What does it mean to be free from thought? Is it the same as being in the moment. Living for today can be a chore when our thoughts only wander from past to future. I cannot understand why the human brain never stops thinking. What drives the brain to continue this incessant chatter and noise? Sometimes I think thoughts hold up the illusion we create for ourselves. The processing never ends, even in our sleep, thoughts continue in our dreams. The mind may sometimes be difficult to manuever but with practice, the mind can be cultivated to focus on one thing, and one thought only. Although this excercise is easier said than done, it does not necessarily take a long time to be focused on a single object. I sometimes play a game telling myself that if I did not understand language or know my ABCs what would my senses be paying attention to?  The now I suppose. No labeling, no naming or comparing, just being.

Movement is Medicine II

Exploration of the different body parts can be an interesting game. If no one ever told you the name of your eye, what would you call it? Probably something related to how you view the world, especially objects in motion. If no one gave you a name for your lungs would you think that you only breathed out your nose and mouth? You’re probably asking what this has to do with movement? Exploration is a sensory experience, by taking the time to observe the moving parts of your body without naming, just simply being very present and aware of simple movement, we can understand the mechanics of thought. the fact that your brain associates sensations like pain with individual body parts shows that you have to name something to make an observation. the minute the observation is made the sensation changes immediately, observe this feeling from within. Watch it like you would watch your favorite movie or sports event. Why shouldn’t inner space be as fascinating if not more interesting than the outer world? Energy sensations can be harnessed and cultivated to heal the body. Low energy sensations can deplete the immune system if a person does not get enough sleep. The movement I am speaking about is the mind body dialogue. Understanding different cellular intelligence opens a whole world of new possibilities. Start learning the language of your cells.
