Technology and meditation:

What if technology was able to assist people to reach heightened states of consciousness? A technological short cut to the evolution of the human mind might be possible. With the invention of binaural beats, the brain can be influenced in subtle ways through the entrainment of brain waves and can be used to induce relaxation and increased awareness depending on the frequency of the sounds being used, these sound frequencies or waves are called Beta, Alpha, Delta, and Theta. Listening to these different brain waves may not immediately induce any changes in consciousness. A person must also have the proper motivation. Delta (1 to 4 Hz) and theta (4 to 8 Hz) waves may induce relaxed, meditative, and creative mental scripts, it may also help individuals who have trouble sleeping to fall asleep. The alpha frequencies (8 to 12 Hz) can aid in meditation and increase mental clarity and the beta frequencies (16 to 24 Hz) may increase concentration and improve memory. These frequencies can be combined to create various effects on the brain’s ability to process data. These examples are a brief summary of the benefits of this technology, and I recommend doing your own research into this field of brain entrainment. Binaural beats can be applied to many aspects of daily life as a substitute to memory supplements, sleeping pills or caffeine. Binaural beats can also be complimentary to meditation and studying for a test. This all depends on the will and motivation of the observer. Fair warning, this technology may not be recommended for everyone because all of us are unique with varying degrees of intelligence and understanding. Self inquiry and discernment is your best filter in determining which tools to use to raise your consciousness.
